Can I add protein powder to the Muscle Muffin?

You can! Just keep in mind that adding extra protein can make the muffin a little drier. We’ve found that adding up to 10g of whey has very little impact on the texture, but once you go beyond that, you’ll notice it becoming noticeably drier. If you’re using our Casein Custard Protein, you can get away with adding around 20–25g without a huge change in texture. It’ll be slightly denser, but still delicious.

Why did my Muscle Muffin turn out dry?

Most likely, you either didn’t add enough liquid or microwaved it for too long. Make sure you’re using the recommended amount of liquid and keep an eye on your microwave time — even an extra few seconds can make a difference.

Can I have a Muscle Muffin after training?

Protein and carbs in almost equal proportions after training? Don’t threaten us with a good time. But seriously, Muscle Muffins make a great pre- or post-workout snack, giving you a convenient combination of protein and carbs when you need it.

How many muffins can be consumed per day?

As many as your heart desires. ❤️ That said, we’d recommend keeping variety in your diet. Muscle Muffins are a snack, not your entire food pyramid. Eating a diverse range of foods is important for overall health (as much as you might not like to be reminded of it).

Are Muscle Muffins better than protein bars or shakes?

Better is subjective to the person. We designed our muffins to be a better, more whole-food alternative to a protein bar. However, if you're looking for a protein replacement (i.e. super lean protein), a shake made with water or light milk will serve that purose slightly better. “Better” is subjective. We designed Muscle Muffins to be a more enjoyable, whole-food-style alternative to the typical protein snack, like a bar. That said, if your main goal is simply to get a lean hit of protein, a shake made with water or light milk will generally be a more efficient option.

When is the best time to eat them- pre- or post-workout?
